CAPE Prevention Counselors are highly trained mental health professionals integrated within Dutchess County schools to provide a full range of substance use prevention and early intervention services for students and their families, utilizing evidence-based programs and practices.
They provide substance use/addiction prevention education and counseling to students, faculties, families, and communities through individual and group counseling, information and referral services, and family communication programs.

The primary goal of the program is to help students overcome barriers that may be impeding their ability to be successful in their schoolwork and social activities.
