September 30, 2024

Starting at 7 pm | Shadows, 176 Rinaldi Blvd, Poughkeepsie, NY

September is National Recovery Month!

Help us raise awareness about addiction in our community…

Join us for our 13th Annual Starry Night Ceremony, where we honor the lives that have been lost to substance use disorder/addiction and celebrate all those who have found their pathway to recovery.

The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education and the Prevention Foundation of the Mid-Hudson Valley have hosted this special event since 2011. Each year we come together to heal as a community and know we are not alone. We talk about prevention and the hope of recovery from SUD/addiction and reducing the stigma around this complex brain disease.

Check-in starts at 6:30 pm and the event begins at 7 pm. A special candlelight ceremony on the waterfront will be followed by refreshments and conversation at Shadows on the Hudson, in Poughkeepsie.
This event is FREE to attend, but registration is required.

RSVP Today!

PLEASE NOTE: This is a substance and alcohol-free event. We ask that all attendees honor this out of respect for the individuals in recovery who will be in attendance. Thank you!

Have you lost someone to addiction?

Follow the link below to submit this form and light a virtual candle in honor of your friend, family member, or loved one. Share a photo and write them a message, so we can honor their memory at the event. Please help us spread the word to all those who might wish to honor someone’s life and memory.

PLEASE NOTE: If you submitted a loved one in previous years, you do not need to resubmit them. Their candle is still lit. The deadline to submit a candle for the event is 9/25/24. If you submit one after that date, your candle will be included at the event next year instead. We appreciate your understanding.
